[Jing Ling, Song Qiu] Redemption-Focused Conquest

Furuya Rei, a new male college student at the University of Tokyo, was recommended a study app by his roommate called "Find Your Inner Light." Supposedly, the app combines education with entertainment, uses games to spark players' interest in learning, and targets their weaknesses with impressive results. His roommate suggested he give it a try.

Interested, Furuya searched for it in the app store on his phone after leaving class and returning to the dorm. He glanced at its tags: romance, strategy, game, story, raising sims, action... He hesitated, but decided to trust his roommate and downloaded Find Your Inner Light.

However, his roommate had forgotten to mention that the recommended app couldn't be found in the app store and had to be downloaded through a web search. His roommate was busy with coursework and in a different major from Furuya, so he didn't realize Furuya had downloaded the wrong app until three days later...

Unaware of anything, Furuya opened the game he'd downloaded, registered an account, completed real-name verification, and pressed the "Start Game" button. He was matched with the love interest he'd been trying to win over for years: Scotch.

[If Only I'd Come in Spring: Scotch (Shadow/Light)]

The characters for "Shadow" and "Light" almost overlap on the screen, forming a design whose meaning is unclear.

After reading Scotch's life story, Furuya fell into deep thought. Since he'd found this game and encountered Scotch, he had to give Scotch, or rather, Hiromitsu Morofushi, a happy ending!!!

Having stepped into the abyss, Furuya willingly endured four whole years of heartbreak, yet still saw no light at the end of it. Then, after entering the police academy and meeting a strange curly-haired classmate, the game suddenly launched an event: "Invite Matsuda Jinpei to play this game. After completing the first playthrough, the player will receive a new save point."

What was there to wait for? Furuya decisively grabbed the cold, arrogant, sharp-tongued curly-haired classmate, who didn't look like a police officer at all, and recommended the game to him.

Matsuda Jinpei: ?

Matsuda Jinpei: Tch, what a pain.

P.S.

1. Romance game 2.0 (nods). Aside from both being romance games, the settings and so on are basically different, I think. Mainly, I've already written about Hiromitsu and Hagiwara winning over Rei, and Little Jinpei winning over Rei. I also want to write one about Rei and Little Jinpei winning over Hiromitsu and Hagiwara.

2. I've dropped this and won't be writing it. Don't start reading.

Theme: I opened my eyes amid the desolation, and rekindled my flame from the ashes.
