As one of the heirs to Fengqi Society, one of the most influential families in Japanese society, Kazaki Anko was called a child sent by the gods because there was nothing she couldn't do.

She was exceptionally gifted, with almost nothing capable of holding her back. Everything went her way. She was perfect, almost like a god.

She was also the person the Kansai detective had never been able to defeat in their childhood kendo matches, someone he regarded as a shadow from his past. He practiced day and night, hoping to defeat her one day.

Then, at seventeen, while working on a case, he saw this godlike heir at a society banquet. The heir who should have always looked down on everyone had been completely stripped of her sharp edges. She was gentle to an unbelievable degree, her body as delicate as a willow.

He didn't know why she had changed so much. Driven by his childhood fixation, he stubbornly insisted on competing with her, unaware that he had already stepped into the trap this godlike girl had set. He fell into it one step at a time, willingly becoming her blade.

The young, famous jewelry designer Usuno E, proud and self-assured, had all the attention stolen from her at her prized jewelry exhibition by a phantom thief who appeared out of nowhere and performed a dazzling magic trick.

Kaitou Kid was so flamboyant and brazen that everyone present couldn't help cheering him on. Only the beautiful woman standing in the center stared at him coldly. Acting on a selfish whim, he seized the chaos to kiss the woman's slender, pale hand and steal the design she had poured her heart and soul into.

But the beautiful woman wasn't angry. Instead, she watched him fly away and smiled.

That look was just like the way you'd look at a child playing around.

Kaitou Kid felt as if she had looked down on him.

One day, much later, Kuroba Kaito saw the family across the street, who had been living abroad for years, move back in. A beautiful woman with long hair and lowered eyes sat on the balcony. She turned to look at him. It was the jewelry designer.

At the same time, he remembered. When he was little and had just learned magic, he went to see the pretty big sister who lived across the street. She had just turned down a classmate who was courting her, and he excitedly used a magic trick to present her with a vivid red rose.

"Pretty big sister, I want you to be my bride!" he said.

The pretty big sister raised an eyebrow, took the rose, and gently tapped it against his forehead.

"Little boy, I don't like red roses, and that trick won't work on me."

A heartbroken little boy cried all the way home.

Years later, the brazen thief in white pinned that proud, pretty big sister against a wall. His breath hot, he murmured:

"Big sister, what kind of trick does work on you?"

Kudo Shinichi, the high school detective hailed by the media as Japan's savior, had a childhood friend he had loved since they were young and outstanding grades. A natural-born prodigy, he had never been short of admirers.

Then, on the day he turned eighteen, his life changed completely. Someone he had never noticed before appeared in it.

Tachibana Tsukina from the class next door, an inconspicuous girl nobody noticed: a quiet girl with short hair and black-rimmed glasses, average grades, and an unassuming personality. Yet she had a secret crush on the brightest person at school.

A close encounter made her unwilling to remain ordinary. This ordinary girl decided to change herself and bravely pursue the person she liked. But then that dazzling person suddenly disappeared.

◆ Many canon-divergent details. Everyone is an adult. A story about two people whose feelings are out of sync. Both have a period of one-sided love. Includes some Shinichi and Ran, so beware. The plot will be a mix of bitter and sweet.

◆ A somewhat clichéd unrequited-love story. I'm trying my hand at a bittersweet, healing romance. The title is inspired by "Horimiya," and there will be a few cameos.

◆ Though it's about a crush, there will be several love-triangle showdowns. I'll only start posting after finishing the love-triangle arc.
