The Pure-Black Bourbon Has His Eye on Gin's Woman

The short story didn't hit the spot, so I'm planning a longer one. Here's a story I'm collecting advance interest for: [The Red-and-Black Bourbon Sets His Sights on Gin's Woman]. In this story, a good-guy Bourbon transmigrates into the bad-guy Bourbon, while the original bad-guy Bourbon still exists: a triple-layer setup.

[Pure-Black Bourbon X Jianhua X Gin, a short sandwich story. Definitely out of character, a battle between a cunning puppy and a sinister wolfhound, written for my tastes, no logic.]

In his first year in the Black Organization, Rei Furuya knew that Gin was the most troublesome and arrogant person in the group. To get control of Gin's weakness and trample him underfoot, he deliberately got close to Oriyuki Jianhua, the beautiful woman Gin cherished.

That's right, he set his sights on Gin's woman.

The woman was blind, innocent, and easy to sweet-talk. He'd approached her with an ulterior motive, secretly unsettling her heart behind Gin's back. But without realizing it, he became her willing servant and developed a twisted possessiveness, wanting the mouth that called Gin "A-ji" to say only his own name.

So he deliberately set things up. In some corner of the world she couldn't see, he had the injured Gin return home from a mission and catch her in bed, looking as though she belonged to him.

In the final battle between the good guys and the Black Organization, Gin, who refused to be captured even unto death, used a massive amount of explosives to take himself and the police down with him. Bourbon, who was an undercover agent, was among them.

When he woke again, he had transmigrated to the first year after he joined the Black Organization. He had already earned a codename through his exceptional skills, but to prevent Gin's final act of madness, this time he decided to set his sights on Gin first and gain control of the weakness of the organization's most troublesome and arrogant man.

To his surprise, he discovered that this utterly cruel man carefully cherished a beautiful blind woman as if she were a flower: Oriyuki Jianhua.

But along the way, he found himself unable to resist being drawn to her. Without realizing it, he became her willing servant and developed a twisted possessiveness. For one brief moment, he wanted the mouth that called Gin "A-ji" to say only his own name.

He suppressed the thoughts taking root in him and restrained himself around the woman, believing their relationship had always been nothing more than friendship. But his body seemed beyond his control, yearning to touch her. Then, on a certain drunken night, in a hazy daze, he kissed the woman he called big sister. As he sank ever deeper, he heard her ask:

"Toru, why are you like two different people, day and night?"

He realized something was wrong. Why was he always so tired? Then he discovered that another version of himself lived inside this body, a pure-black version from this world, someone who would become Gin's enemy without hesitation just to possess Jianhua.

Worse still, one night he woke with a start and found the big sister he had treated so carefully in his arms. Gin, wounded in a mission, had appeared in the suddenly opened doorway.

His pure-black self had set him up.

Content Warnings:

> Primarily told from the good-guy Bourbon's perspective. Open ending. It looks like a contest between two people, but it's really three, with multiple dramatic confrontations and plenty of White Album-style misunderstandings.

> The heroine is genuinely blind, and she will not be cured in the main story. This is a thorn in Gin's heart, though there may be an alternate-route story.

> Romance-focused, with little plot. Don't scrutinize the logic. The main appeal is delicious angst and satisfaction.
