Why Is He Jealous Again?

(The blurb is still being revised. The core premise is summed up in one sentence.)

In the thirteenth year of the Mingde era, Chi Jiayao, the second daughter of the Duke of Ningguo, went to stay at the family's estate outside the capital.

When spring came, she found a young man covered in blood outside the estate.

Seeing how handsome he was, Jiayao took pity on him and brought him back to the estate. She even called a doctor, who treated most of his wounds.

Jiayao liked the handsome man's looks, but she liked the little teardrop-shaped mole beneath his eye even more.

The beauty was cold and aloof, never smiling. It took her quite some effort to make him let down his guard.

After reading the story of "The Beacon Fires That Fooled the Feudal Lords," Jiayao prepared a crackling fireworks display for the beauty.

Unfortunately, before the fireworks could be set off, the beauty disappeared.

Jiayao was also summoned back to the bustling capital by the Duke of Ningguo.

At a flower-viewing banquet, the Duchess of Ningguo looked over potential husbands for Jiayao.

Through a half-transparent screen, Jiayao pointed to a familiar face.

"I want him."

Pei Jun had once been the unattainable moon in the capital's sky.

When he learned that his parents had arranged a marriage for him, he didn't object.

After they married, he would treat his bride with courtesy and respect.

He never expected his bride to be so warm and passionate. On their wedding night, as the candlelight flickered, her slender fingers lingered on his face for a long time.

-

Later, Pei Jun often felt that Chi Jiayao was looking through him at someone else.

Fortunately, Jiayao was now his wife.

Whoever that person was, no one else could stand by her side as he did.

Pei Jun has a secret.

He originally had a teardrop-shaped mole on his face that was said to be an ill omen.

To ensure he could inherit the family estate without a hitch, he applied face powder every day to cover it completely.

1. The hero has suffered from amnesia.
