[My day job suddenly promoted me, and the extra workload means I haven't been able to keep up with this story. So it won't become a paid novel until the main story is finished. Updates 3-5 times a week.]
In a nutshell: Starting from nothing is exhausting, so when I was young, I hoped my dad would become a success. Now that I'm grown, I hope my husband will become a success. What have I done? Just hoping they'll make it big is exhausting enough, okay?
Character setup: spoiled, fussy young master X daddy-type, nurturing bodyguard [Size difference, height difference, strength difference]
The company was on the verge of bankruptcy. Mr. Ning's former enemies were all waiting to see him hit rock bottom, but he was most worried about his son, Ning Jinxing, who had been pampered since childhood and had never suffered a single hardship.
So he had no choice but to harden his heart and ask his most trusted bodyguard, Duan Lufeng, to take Ning Jinxing back to his hometown, a remote village, to live for a while.
He thought a little exercise would build the boy's resolve and be good for him.
-
One moment, Ning Jinxing was vacationing in the Maldives. The next, he was in the countryside, where birds pooped everywhere and chickens laid eggs at any moment.
New to the place, the young master was curious about everything.
By day, he'd go fishing in the river, climb trees in the hills, or sneak eggs from the chicken coop, then get chased by chickens and geese...
And while Duan Lufeng worked to earn money and support the young master, he also had to fish him out of the river, rescue him from trees he couldn't climb down from, and chase away the chickens and geese after him...
He thought the young master was just excited by the novelty and would settle down after a while.
Sure enough, after some time, there was one more place where he had to look for Ning Jinxing: under the big banyan tree at the village entrance, otherwise known as the village gossip bureau.
When he got there, Ning Jinxing had already hit it off with all the old men and women.
Later on, the villagers even started trying to find him a partner.
Duan Lufeng: ?
-
Half a year later, Mr. Ning had made a comeback. He drove to the village in the middle of the night to pick up his son, and reporters came along to interview him.
"Mr. Ning, what kind of perseverance did it take to bring your company back from the brink?"
Mr. Ning wiped away tears. "Whenever I think of my precious son suffering out in the countryside, my heart aches. And when my heart aches, I find the motivation to keep going!"
The camera turned to Ning Jinxing.
He was lounging in a chair in the courtyard with his legs crossed, while his bodyguard fanned him and fed him fruit. He looked thoroughly content.
Mr. Ning and the reporter stared, dumbfounded, at Ning Jinxing, who had clearly gained a good deal of weight.
-
Little Scene 1:
The young master's face was pretty, but his personality was truly awful, so Duan Lufeng always made sure to give him a thorough talking-to before going out.
Duan: Young master, if my relatives come looking for trouble again, call me right away.
Ning said confidently: Don't worry. I can handle them.
Duan pressed his lips together. What I'm worried about is exactly that.
Little Scene 2:
After a squabble over something minor, they slept in separate rooms.
The next day, Duan apologized to Ning.
Ning (😡): Do you know, I was so upset last night I didn't sleep a wink!
Duan, sporting dark circles under his eyes (🥺): But when I came to see you secretly last night, you were asleep. I even tucked you in...
Ning, utterly convinced he was right (😠): I passed out from being so upset!
Little Scene 3:
Duan Lufeng wasn't much of a talker, but he worked hard and always listened to the young master.
That night, Ning Jinxing clung to his shoulder, panting. "I'm definitely going to work tomorrow. You have to take me!"
He knew that Duan Lufeng would never refuse him when he made a request.
Sure enough, Duan Lufeng agreed, then told him to raise his hips a little as he discreetly moved his own hips with even greater vigor. The result was that a certain poor young master spent the whole next day in bed.
He completely forgot about his plan to go to work.
#He never says no to the young master's face, but stops his various schemes through his actions
#Because his dad is so capable and his boyfriend spoils him so much, the greatest hardships Ning Jinxing has ever endured in his life were his husband's cock and four bumpy hours on a bus back to the village.
A few notes:
1. Sending the shou to the countryside was mainly to protect him, not to make him suffer and toughen him up. His dad couldn't bear to do that.
2. Still 1v1, happy ending, both are each other's first and only, a sweet two-person romance. This is purely a personal fantasy of mine. I love [spoiled, arrogant young master shou X well-endowed, gentle, wife-dotting gong]. If that's not your thing, read with caution!
3. I say this is a slice-of-life farming story. Will you believe me...? (🤔) It has a strong rural flavor, with lots of village life and customs. It's a warm, slow-paced everyday story, with an affectionate relationship and a happy domestic life.
4. The young master is mean and spoiled, but Xiao Duan just adores him! Their stumbles and mishaps are all part of the fun.
5. The shou has a bit of skin hunger, really craves the gong's body, and has a mild oral fixation.
6. This belongs to the same [So It Has Come to This] series as So It Has Come to This, Let's Eat First on my profile. There will be cameos from other stories in the series.
7. For other content warnings, see the author's note at the end of Chapter 1.
Theme: Starting from nothing is exhausting. Better to hope your husband makes it big!

"... What's wrong?" "Ning..." This is a big bug for the author~ Should it be Duan Lufeng?
