[One-line summary: At first, I thought he was a bad person. Then I started thinking he was pretty gentle and beautiful. By the time I realized what was happening, I was already acting like his dog]
Character setup: A tough-talking strong guy who wins himself over × a gentle, powerful, flirtatious bottom
Blurb:
Xu Muyan transmigrates into a book, becoming the cannon-fodder roommate of the male lead, a straight-as-an-arrow campus heartthrob who despises men.
The good news: The heartthrob isn't the protagonist, so he probably won't get humiliated in some tragic plotline.
The bad news: The original owner was gay, and everyone knew it. He also had a pretty bad reputation.
The even worse news: Xu Muyan is gay too, and not very good at acting straight.
On the first day of school, Jiang Cun enters their dorm with a dark expression. Xu Muyan takes the initiative to greet him. He has barely raised a hand, and the smile hasn't even reached his face, when Jiang Cun says coldly, "I'm straight. Don't even think about making a move on me."
Xu Muyan completely understands. People outside the community really can't accept it.
Xu Muyan hadn't expected the original owner's reputation to be so awful. And the original owner has a bloodsucking father, too. How could he possibly be some rich playboy?
After investigating, Xu Muyan does indeed uncover something fishy. The rumors all originated with one of his admirers.
Xu Muyan gets so mad he corners the guy in an alley and beats him up.
By chance, his straight roommate sees the whole thing.
Well, there goes his reputation again.
But before long, he notices Jiang Cun seems much friendlier toward him. He even starts chatting with him, and eventually asks him to go out and eat together.
Xu Muyan still remembers to keep his distance, though. After a while, he realizes something is off about Jiang Cun...
One night, after returning from a mixer, Jiang Cun grabs him by the wrist and demands, "Have you been avoiding me lately?"
"They were right. You're really good at playing with straight men's hearts."
Xu Muyan: ?
When Jiang Cun learns his roommate is Xu Muyan, the promiscuous gay guy from the art school, his friends tease him for ages.
So Jiang Cun treats Xu Muyan with anything but friendliness.
As it turns out, making things clear on the first day really does help.
Xu Muyan doesn't harass him, spy on him, or even get handsy, despite what everyone said.
As time goes by, he realizes Xu Muyan isn't the fickle, snobbish person everyone made him out to be. Xu Muyan is kind, ambitious, and knows how to respect boundaries.
By the end, he even thinks Xu Muyan is beautiful...
When he realizes Xu Muyan is avoiding him, Jiang Cun is so angry he wants to lock him up.
#You might not believe me, but I saw the straight campus heartthrob force a kiss on a man!!!
#You might not believe me, but I saw the straight campus heartthrob cry because his roommate ate with someone else!!!
A few notes:
1. One-on-one romance, happy ending, both leads are each other's first and only.
2. If the sky falls, the male lead's mouth will hold it up. There are a few mildly angsty redemption scenes.
3. The bottom falls in love at first sight. He doesn't try to turn the top gay; the top wins himself over.
4. I'll add more when I think of it. Leaving myself a note: 2024.10.18, 00:48.
Theme: Love can overcome any hardship.
