#How about you pretend I'm a wolf? Then we can call it even?
Lailisen was a Siberian sled Samoyed. Unlike the ordinary sled dogs native to this place, he had originally been a pet in a wealthy city household. But for various reasons, he ended up staying on this snowy plain.
Then an old man with poor eyesight found him and brought him home to be a sled dog.
Lailisen adapted quickly. He fell in love with the feeling of racing through the snow and was happier than ever. But after a while, he noticed something wasn't right.
Why did the villagers bully his owner? Why did the other sled dogs bully him? Why was he his owner's only sled dog?
The little dog's head couldn't figure it out.
One day, an injured dog appeared at the village entrance. It looked a lot like the husky belonging to the hunter, but no person or dog was willing to approach it or help it.
Lailisen dragged and bit the dog all the way home, nearly cracking two of his own teeth in the process.
His owner treated the dog.
From then on, Lailisen had a companion, and his owner had another sled dog.
From that day on, the villagers stopped bullying his owner, and the other sled dogs stopped bullying him, too.
Lailisen also gained a strong, imposing, quiet but capable friend.
“Alaric, you're the best and most beautiful sled dog in the world!” Lailisen told him.
Alaric was ambushed and gravely wounded by wolves from his own pack. As he lay at death's door, a pure-white Samoyed carried him home.
Then it put him to work as a sled dog...
How could the mighty wolf king of the Siberian snowfields do something as humiliating as pulling a sled?
“Alaric, isn't pulling a sled so much fun? I love this snowy plain!” Lailisen's cheerful voice came from beside him as they pulled the sled together.
“I suppose,” he said expressionlessly.
#Pull! Of course we're pulling a sled!
Bonus scene:
One day, Lailisen suddenly spotted Alaric standing with a group of “big dogs”...
Grinning, he dashed right into the “dogs.” “Zhuangzhuang! You have so many good friends. Why don't you bring them home so we can all help our owner deliver things?”
Alaric, the noble wolf king of Siberia: ...
The wolves: Boss, who is that? Why is he calling you Zhuangzhuang?
The wolf king fell silent. How could he explain that Lailisen had found his name too hard to pronounce and given him the nickname Zhuangzhuang?
#Lailisen: “Alaric! Bark bark bark with me!”
#The wolf king did his best to raise his voice: “Awoof!”
#I've never seen a dog as handsome as you, Alaric. You smell so good. (Note: An old-fashioned city dog's way of flirting with dogs.)
A few notes:
1. This is a brainless, fluffy animal romance. Please ignore any plot holes needed to make the story work, such as the bottom not recognizing a wolf.
2. Alaric is a very handsome, imposing wolf king; Lailisen is a super-cute Samoyed. 💗💗
3. This idea came to me months ago. I recently wrote about the King falling in love with a little animal on Children's Day, and suddenly got inspired for this story (fidgets).
Theme: True love knows no species.
