Fei Ye tried to kill himself, but failed.
When he opened his eyes again, he had been transported to an unfamiliar world. A little yellow duck System ordered him to save the great villain, or else it would electrocute him. No questions asked.
Fei Ye: “Come on, electrocute me to death.”
System: ...?
The villain was the classic strong-but-miserable type. When Fei Ye met him, the male insect was in dire straits, trapped and with his long hair in disarray against his face. He looked utterly wretched, yet his blood-red eyes were defiant as he stared back, murderous intent seeping from them.
Fei Ye raised an eyebrow. Interesting.
The System hurriedly rallied: “Host, life is a mirror. Everyone has a moment when they're down on their luck! If you're good to him, he'll be good to you in return. That's how it works in so many novels! Go on, show the great villain some kindness! Smile, ask if he's hurt, check on his injuries, ”
Fei Ye: “Sure.”
The System watched him walk over with relief, only for him to punch the villain in the face.
Then he taunted him: “Hey, are you okay?”
System: Huh?
Fei Ye: “I smiled and showed concern. Didn't you see?”
System: Oh, right.
The villain was petty, vengeful, and ruthless. His retaliation came soon enough.
When a bony wing pierced his chest, Fei Ye felt no pain. He leaned against the wall, head bowed, soaked in blood and breathing faintly. It was the reverse of his first encounter with the villainous male insect, Youyin. He reached behind his waist for a chain, ready to end it all, but the insect, having taken his revenge, turned around and came back.
“Are you crying?”
Fei Ye ignored him.
His hand suddenly shook. Youyin had taken hold of the rope.
The legendary, untamable Naga male insect willingly bound himself, offering the other end of the rope to Fei Ye. As the chain tightened around his neck, Youyin looked at those beautiful eyes, now drenched in blood, and gave a low, scornful laugh. “Why are you crying? It won't do you any good.”
Actually, it would.
“Come on, take me to report him.”
…
They were right. Among the hundreds of insect species, Naga males were the strongest and hardest to tame. They were born with a volatile instinct to reject control and demand absolute freedom. Being kind to them wouldn't make them submit, and threats or pain would get you nowhere. They had to choose it willingly.
That was the only way: they had to choose it themselves.
Many years later, Youyin lay on the floor on one knee, watching his male master on the sofa, kicking his feet as he played video games and swore up a storm. Youyin couldn't help laughing.
“It's true. Naga males are hard to tame.”
But they were also...
“Loyal, protective of their master, and willing to live or die together.”
[Reader's Guide: Must Read]
1. There's genuine fighting between the leads early on. Genuine fighting. (Emphasis added.) If you can't handle them fighting, don't read this. The top really does beat the bottom, and the bottom really does get revenge on the top. I've made that perfectly clear and will repeat it in the author's note for Chapter One. If you still miss it, there's nothing I can do.
2. Both are virgins, one-on-one pairing, both strong and both crazy, with their madness drawing them toward each other. They're both weird enough that their thought processes connect. If you can't handle mentally ill characters, don't read this.
3. There are a ton of original details. I made them all up.
4. There is a touch of ensemble cast, but the focus won't shift too much to the supporting characters.
5. I don't accept writing advice. If our paths cross, that's fate.
Theme: What people need is not pain, but love.
