The White Knight

[Synopsis in first person, main text in third person]

A beautiful gong with White Knight Syndrome vs. a shou who gets everyone wrapped around his finger

My name is Li Jiting.

I'm sick.

White Knight Syndrome: I can't help wanting to save anyone I see suffering.

I got specially admitted to this elite school for the wealthy, "Shangjing," thanks to my excellent grades. I should have kept my head down and tried to survive in this playground for the rich. Most of the time, that's exactly what I did. After all, keeping a low profile is essential to making a living in this playground.

But one day, as I happened to be passing by, I saw a group of arrogant rich kids smash a glass bottle and force a student to swallow the pieces. I watched from behind a wall as his mouth filled with blood and he looked utterly wretched... My illness flared up again.

I said, "Don't worry. I'll avenge you."

My classmate grabbed my hand, eyes brimming with tears. "Brother Jiting..."

He didn't finish, but I knew what he wanted to say.

He wanted to say: Don't go. You can't beat them.

He wanted to say: Thank you, but forget it.

He wanted to say: You're such a good person, bro.

But shut your mouth. I don't need you to say anything.

To satisfy my compulsion, I deliberately put myself in the path of those rich kids. The crown prince of Fengqi Hospital, a chaebol heir, the son of a political bigwig, a deranged artist... I approached them one by one, trying to find the real mastermind.

But I didn't expect their little group to fall apart first.

One after another, all six came to me and pledged their loyalty.

"Jiting, you can trust me."

Huh? How strange. Did I ever say I wanted to trust anyone?
