When she wakes up, Su Yunshi, a nationally renowned painter who has just won the annual gold award, has transmigrated.
The good news: She has loving parents, an older brother who has just become a police officer, and a wonderfully harmonious family.
The bad news: She has transmigrated into a middle school student doing homework at a police station in the 1990s.
Ever-optimistic Su Yunshi thinks, "So what if I'm a kid? I'll grow up eventually."
But just as Su Yunshi is congratulating herself on her good fortune, the criminal investigation System bound to her activates.
Mission request
Serial killer attacks police case. Assist the police in capturing the killer. Participation requirement: 30%. Host may accept or refuse.
Accept: Obtain a preview of the crime scene.
Refuse: Unlock a bonus feature.
Su Yunshi rests her chin on her hand. "The police can solve the case. I'm just a painter. What am I supposed to do, catch the killer? Besides, it requires 30% participation. I'm a middle schooler. They'll kick me out as soon as I get to the crime scene. How am I supposed to reach 30%?"
So, of course, Su Yunshi chooses to refuse.
The next second, the System's bonus feature appears on her homework book. A gruesome crime scene materializes out of nowhere on the page. Violent images flash straight into Su Yunshi's eyes. The System's sole concession to politeness is to censor the bloody parts.
Beneath a patch of mosaic censoring, Su Yunshi makes out the victim's name with perfect clarity: Su Yunye.
Oh my god, isn't that her newly discovered older brother?
What kind of bonus feature is this?
Su Yunshi jumps to her feet. "Can you get rid of this stupid mosaic?"
System: The images are too graphic. Viewing is prohibited for minors.
Su Yunshi: "..."
System, get over here. I'll beat you to a pulp.
After learning that if she refused the System's missions, it would arrange all kinds of bizarre deaths for her own brother, Su Yunshi tactfully advises him, "Brother, actually, I don't think you're suited to be a police officer."
The next second, the System's display appears again: Host has forcibly altered the story's pace. Please enjoy the Host's bonus feature.
Su Yunshi knows exactly what the System means by a bonus feature.
She immediately backtracks. "Wait, wait... Brother, I think you were born to be a police officer."
While spending one moment studying middle school subjects and the next scrambling to save her brother in all kinds of cases, Su Yunshi is utterly exhausted.
She drops the act. "Come on, tell me what the killer looks like. I'll draw them for you."
Her brother's coworker, standing beside them, says, "You can draw the killer based solely on an eyewitness's account? I've never heard of solving a case like this. Who taught your little sister?"
Su Yunye grits his teeth. "She read so many novels she fried her brain."
[Special thanks to my dear Master Deng for helping me polish the premise and revise the blurb, hehe~]
1. This is my take on a story set in a bygone era, with family planning removed.
Theme: Unity, unity, unity
