[Western Crossover] How Many Ways Can You Be a Guide in Gotham?

[The main story is complete. The remaining bonus chapters will be released as special extras, with no set update schedule. Thank you to all the readers who’ve supported this story all along~] After escaping from the hell known as the sanatorium, Patrick never once felt that he was still alive. The hollow carved into his chest split open inch by inch. The wind swept through it, taking nothing away and leaving nothing behind. Revenge had not filled the emptiness inside him. Living was painful, but he didn’t want to die. In the end, he decided to open a clinic, for those who were alive and those who were close to death, so he could understand the meaning of being alive. There, he met someone much like himself. He saw a pile of ashes left behind by a fire. He saw a soul struggling at every moment. He saw an astonishingly powerful vitality and a man who swept through everything like a gale. The alcohol got them both drunk. They collapsed in the mud, and Patrick lowered his head slightly, gray smoke blurring his blue-green eyes. “Why are we alive?” “For this damned life!” About Jason: “I recognized you the moment I saw you, but how long did it take you?” Patrick shrugged. “Sorry, Jason, but who would connect a short, skinny boy with a hulking man who looks like he could take someone out with one punch?” -- “You should be sitting in a banquet hall, not Crime Alley.” “There’s no should or shouldn’t. It’s just a matter of whether I want to.” Jason couldn’t understand why someone who belonged in a luxurious office among the elite would have the nerve to pick up a man who looked like nothing but trouble in the middle of the night in Gotham, then take him back to his clinic. Seriously, anyone who’d survived to adulthood in Gotham should understand the principle of looking out for themselves. When Jason realized Patrick hadn’t recognized him as his middle school classmate, he decided to shelter this kindhearted bastard for the time being. But… “He punched the guy causing trouble and sent him flying? I thought Patrick was a Guide.” “He runs a company and a clinic, and he’s pretty good at fighting too. I feel something stirring in my DNA. Have any new vigilantes made their debut lately?” *Contains dark humor. *Includes a Sentinel-Guide setting. Theme: Accept the past, accept yourself.
