I don't recommend subscribing to the whole story right away.
Goudan'er lives deep in the mountains. He lost his parents when he was young and was raised by an old woman. Nobody gave him a proper name, so everyone calls him Goudan'er. He was supposed to be a delicate boy, yet he ended up with a man's name.
His family is poor and destitute, with nothing but a rundown thatched hut.
He's thin and dark, plain-looking, and still unmarried at twenty. He's already an old, unwanted boy, with only old bachelors hanging around him. Everyone says he'll never marry or find a husband who suits him.
Later, he rescues a man in the mountains. The man is covered in wounds and soaked in blood. The nights are bitterly cold, and Goudan'er holds the man close as they pass one day after another. Before long, the man's hands have been all over him.
The man has injured his face, and everyone says the two of them are both ugly, a perfect match.
Goudan'er thinks so too, but he's shy and doesn't dare say it.
At first, he plucks up his courage to seduce the man. When he carries water, he accidentally reveals a tempting shoulder. When he goes into the water to catch fish, his little foot brushes against the man's big one.
The man silently watches him fumble through his attempts at flirting without saying a word.
Goudan'er is the first to blush, and he panics.
Then the man's facial injuries heal, and he turns out to be a handsome, dashing man.
Everyone says such a handsome man could never stay long in a little mountain village, much less fall for Goudan'er.
Goudan'er thinks so too, and no longer dares to approach him.
He keeps his distance, but the man pins him down tighter and tighter, until there's no space between them at all.
The man looks at him, flushed and panting, and murmurs, "Are you still going to run away?"
Not a stitch on, with nowhere to hide.
Just as expected, the man doesn't stay long in the village. He takes Goudan'er by carriage from a small town to the county seat, then on to the capital, with Goudan'er, heavily pregnant, inside the carriage.
The man treats him wonderfully, calls him Baby, and says meeting him is the greatest luck of his life. He even gives him a lovely new name and promises to be with him for the rest of their lives. Even after rising to high office, he never lets Goudan'er down and spoils him rotten.
Before he met the man, Goudan'er lived a miserable life. Everyone said he was ugly and couldn't have children, and they bullied him.
After meeting the man, his complexion grows rosy, his skin fair and his looks beautiful. He wears fine silks and precious jewels, and everyone who sees him says, "I've never seen such a beautiful boy!"
The gong starts out with amnesia. If all goes according to plan, this will be a melodramatic story about rescuing a prince.
Later, the gong gives the shou a new name. He won't be called Goudan'er anymore.
The gong might take the imperial exams and make it to the capital. Oh, wow, I'm a prince.
If all goes according to plan, the shou will lactate. There might not be much, just enough for his old gong to drink. According to some possibly unreliable research, men can lactate.
There may not be much of the gong's storyline in the capital. More of it will be about him living as a village man.
I've started writing. The story itself takes priority.

Here's a preview of my upcoming story, The Diligent Boy and the Taciturn Hunter
Su Yueguang is an ordinary boy from a poor family. He has endless chores every day, yet never enough to eat or warm clothes to wear.
He's beautiful and hardworking, and once he comes of age, many people come to ask for his hand. In the end, he agrees to an ordinary match: a young hunter.
When the hunter comes to ask for his hand, Su Yueguang sneaks a look at him. He's tall and handsome, but rather taciturn, barely saying a word all afternoon.
The villagers all say the hunter is scary, and for some reason Su Yueguang is a little afraid of him. At first, he doesn't agree to the match.
The hunter comes through their village selling meat and sees that yet another family has come to ask for Su Yueguang's hand.
When he runs into Su Yueguang, he finally manages to say something: "Yueguang, I'll treat you well."
Then he hands all the meat he's carrying to Su Yueguang.
From then on, every time the hunter comes to the village, he gives Su Yueguang a string of meat.
When Su Yueguang's parents ask which suitor he'll choose, he thinks of the hunter's promise to treat him well. Blushing, he chooses him.
The hunter's household is complicated. His mother has passed away, and his stepmother is in charge.
Nobody says a word over dinner at night. The atmosphere is oppressive.
The hunter doesn't talk much either, and often goes into the mountains to hunt. At home, Su Yueguang is constantly bossed around by his stepmother, who orders him to do one thing after another.
While doing laundry, he often hears the villagers gossiping. Some men even say, "If I'd known you'd marry him, I'd have gone to your family to ask for your hand!"
Su Yueguang lowers his head and says nothing, quietly carrying on with his work. It's too late to regret it now.
On his way home, he hears that his husband has come down from the mountains. Unable to hide his excitement, he quickens his pace.
The man hasn't seen him in days. He brings the hand he'd been keeping behind his back around to show him a little kitten.
The taciturn man's lips curl up a little, and his gaze softens.
When the man goes to town to sell the mountain goods, he asks if Su Yueguang wants to come along and secretly buys him treats.
Every time the man is scolded by his parents, he stays silent. Su Yueguang thinks he's simply obedient, but when his stepmother tells Su Yueguang to wash the whole family's clothes, the man dumps the dirty laundry in a heap outside her room. "Don't order my husband around. Everyone can wash their own clothes!"
Later, after seeing Su Yueguang bullied by his parents, the man simply takes him away to live in the mountains and stops giving the family a single coin.
He tells him, "From now on, we'll have a little family of our own."
They raise a whole flock of chickens and ducks in the mountains, collecting eggs every day, and keep several fat pigs.
Counting their money every day, Su Yueguang grins so hard you can see his teeth.
Once they've made some money, the young couple builds a house in the village and even buys one in town.
Their life is ordinary. They work hard, eat meat with every meal, and can have all the sweets and fruit they want.
Her husband may not know how to say sweet things, but whatever Su Yueguang wants, he buys for him. He even hands over all the money for Su Yueguang to manage.
Whenever Su Yueguang sees the man, his heart still beats a little faster. A smile appears on his lips without him noticing, and his eyes curve into crescents.
Years later, nestled in his husband's arms, Su Yueguang learns that back then his husband had been afraid he wouldn't agree to marry him. That's why he'd kept going back and forth through the village selling meat. He'd actually just wanted to give it all to Su Yueguang.
Theme: If you can't keep your own house in order, how can you govern the world?
