After the Clueless Widower Found a General with Amnesia

There’s a young widowed husband in Qingshan Village on the border, all alone, living on a barren patch of land behind the village. He never has enough to eat or wear, and grows thinner by the day.

After finally digging up some wild vegetables, he carries them a long way to sell. On his way home, he rescues a promising young general.

The general is badly wounded, hits his head, and comes down with a high fever, making the poor widower’s already hard life even worse.

Luckily, the general is obedient even in his delirium, following him wherever he goes.

One day, the general wakes up. Zhou Jingyi reaches out to feel his forehead, but the general eyes him warily and asks, “Who are you?”

Oh wow, he’s lost his memory too!

Zhou Jingyi doesn’t give him a straight answer, but when he takes the general back to the village, he tells the villagers, “I’m his husband.”

He’s always believed the general would leave. Once the general regained his memories, they would each go their separate ways.

Later, Zhou Jingyi watches the general call him “my husband” over and over, his mind in a mess as he tries to understand how things got this way.

The general had clearly bought an erotic illustrated manual before, then claimed he’d bought it by mistake and only thought of him as a younger brother.

No one answers his questions. The creaking bed drowns out his thoughts as the man holds him tightly.

In the depths of winter, fine beads of sweat mingle, and taut muscles press against him.

The border war grows increasingly chaotic, and the general often uses castrating pigs as an excuse to leave, disappearing for days at a time.

Zhou Jingyi knows the general has long since regained his memory. Going out to castrate pigs is just an excuse.

They were only a brief fling, and with war looming, he shouldn’t keep imposing on the general.

So he packs his things and leaves in a hurry, unaware that there’s already a baby on the way.

He also doesn’t know that the general has long since taken him for his true husband.
