The Beloved Childhood Sweetheart Husband

[Main story complete]

At fourteen, after her family fell on hard times, her mother took Qi Tang to seek refuge with her childhood sweetheart.

Thinking of him still made Qi Tang happy. When she was little, she'd sweetly call him Brother Tangtang whenever she saw him, and give him every nice thing she got.

Both families wanted them to marry, and this trip to seek refuge was meant to bring them together.

Qi Tang thought they would settle down there for good. But after half a year, his mother suddenly left, and he became a young man living under someone else's roof.

His childhood sweetheart was young and carefree, eager to travel far and wide and see the world. He spent most of the year away escorting caravans.

Without the support of either of his two guardians, the young man grew increasingly withdrawn and did nothing but quietly work.

By the time he was old enough to marry, he and his childhood sweetheart were no longer as close as they had once been.

Whenever his childhood sweetheart saw him, he would press his lips together and pass him on the road without a word.

Life under someone else's roof was hard, so Qi Tang wanted to marry as soon as possible.

The Huo family busied themselves looking for a husband for him, asking, "How about this one? What about that one?"

At last, Huo Jianqiu couldn't take it anymore and rushed out. "Isn't there already someone in this house? Am I not better than some random man from outside?"
