Your Majesty, Iselain

"You should choose a husband who is truly outstanding."

"A girl only needs to be pretty. Don't overthink it."

Before she entered society and after she made her debut, all the elders and peers around Hebe, even her younger brothers and sisters, said much the same thing.

The Emperor and Empress, her parents, doted on their children, sometimes to the point of spoiling them.

But barring any surprises, Hebe's future choices were limited to marrying for a political alliance. It was a responsibility she had to bear as a princess of the imperial family. Her twin brother, meanwhile, had been the undisputed first in line to the throne since birth.

Hebe did not believe that marriage to another family was the only way she could fulfill her responsibilities as a member of the imperial family.

She envied her twin brother and was jealous of him, but she was also glad that after hearing her out, he supported her idea without hesitation.

One day, at her brother's suggestion, Hebe left the imperial capital to clear her head at a country palace.

There she met a handsome, gentle young man who could only sit in a wheelchair because of his frail health.

If the rules as they stand don't suit you, then break them and make them fit what you want.
