[Apocalypse] One Day, Life Came Knocking at My Door

Twenty years into the apocalypse, humans have awakened supernatural abilities, but still can't withstand the zombies' siege. The survivors can only huddle inside Base A, cut off from the sun.

One day, an unknown disturbance erupted at Base A's laboratory, leaving countless dead and wounded. A person involved in the incident revealed in horror:

"It's life! Life has abandoned us!"

Lin Zhiyao, female, thirty years old, human, an ordinary stock clerk at the supermarket in Base A.

She's unremarkable and unknown. The only thing worth mentioning is her steady, if exhausting, job.

Her greatest pleasure each day is cursing out her boss when she gets off work at dawn, then giving a passing stray cat a good pet.

She thought this was how she would spend the rest of her life.

Then one day, a filthy little girl suddenly knocked on her door.

The child stared up at her with big eyes, barely able to speak. When pressed, she'd just meow.

She kept calling Lin Zhiyao "Mama" and saying she was a "kitty."

Raising a child in the apocalypse is far too hard. Lin Zhiyao has no interest in taking home a little burden.

Even if the girl says she's a kitty.

That should have been that...

Until one day, holding the child in one arm and a gun in the other, she jumped into a stolen car, blew up the entire base behind her, then floored it and rammed through the first, second, third, fourth, and fifth cars chasing them, all against a backdrop of flames.

Lin Zhiyao: Something doesn't seem right here.

Kitty was sitting in the passenger seat, leaning forward excitedly. "Mama, you said real women never look back at explosions."

An apocalypse road-trip story about raising a kid amid total chaos (probably).
