Since the age of five, Tokugawa has been based overseas, working hard to become a professional tennis player.
He has an older sister, a much, much older sister.
The good news: with his sister around, he doesn't have to inherit the family business and can do what he wants, like become a professional tennis player.
The bad news: with his sister around, no matter how old he gets, he'll always be her little brother.
Tokugawa's sister once remarked that having a little brother was so much fun.
At the time, Tokugawa was still a tiny little radish. His sister held him down by the head, and he thought that maybe having a little brother really was nice.
From then on, Tokugawa wanted a little brother.
One who wasn't too tall, had a little tennis talent and skill, and was preferably cute, too. Just a little brother who acted like a little brother.
Then, when Tokugawa was twelve, he saw a broadcast of the U.S. Junior Open.
He noticed a Japanese kid who, at just eight years old, had won that year's U.S. Junior Open.
Tokugawa wanted a little brother.
One who wasn't too tall, had a little tennis talent and skill, and was preferably cute, too. Ideally, a little brother named Ryoma Echizen.

Reader's guide:
1. Tokugawa x Echizen, one-on-one, with a familial bond between the two Echizens.
2. How can meeting for the first time at ages eight and twelve not count as growing up together as childhood friends?
3. That's about it for now. I'll add more if I think of anything.
