Mouri Juzaburo, fourteen years old, third year of junior high at Rikkai University Junior High School.
A regular on the tennis team. He used to be the comic relief at Shitenhoji, a school famous for its jokesters. Now he's the team's champion truant.
He recently finished this year's National Tournament, the final one of his junior high career. He shut out every opponent 6-0, making him one of the cornerstones of Rikkai University Junior High School's second consecutive national championship.
The second term of his third year has just begun. He hasn't had a chance to submit his resignation from the team yet, and is currently skipping practice while thinking up an excuse to avoid the upcoming school festival.
But while he is slacking off, the cat hears a voice.
"Mouri-senpai is so strong! He beat Kenya 6-0!"
"But didn't Mouri-senpai get shut out by Gekko-senpai afterward?"
The cat, who has just found a spot and is about to go to sleep, jolts awake.
Gekko? Who's that?
Who shut him out?
Wait, where is that voice coming from?
At the same time, Kirihara Akaya, passing by with materials for the school festival, hears the noise and instinctively looks up.
"Oh, Mouri-senpai is slacking off again!"
