The Ghost in the Elevator

Shen Tan died and became a ghost.

He couldn't leave the elevator. All he could do was stare blankly at one batch of office workers after another, all scrolling on their phones.

So boring. Let's see what videos they're watching.

Huh? Why is someone reading a huge hardcover book?

So boring. I'll take a look, just this once.

Why does this person read so slowly? Growing impatient as he waited, the ghost Shen Tan swore under his breath.

Oh, she'd just turned the page. Lucky me.

Then, one late night, the elevator broke down. He and the woman reading the book were both trapped inside.

She's really got some nerve. She's still reading at a time like this. At least it's convenient for him, a way to pass the long night.

Wait, why did she suddenly say hello to him?

A super-short story, possibly a little depressing, with an unhappy ending.
