A Guide to Raising a High-Level Villain

[This blurb is very stream-of-consciousness. I'll revise it into something more concrete once I've settled on the worldbuilding!!]

Everyone was debating who the real underground boss of the city was, never realizing that the mysterious person they were talking about was the sickly high school boy standing nearby, looking like a strong breeze could knock him over (not).

Powerful villains often have distinctive charisma, complex minds and emotions, a rebellious and unruly nature, a mysterious aura, and flashes of humanity. With all that in mind, let's create the perfect villain!

Protagonist: ? What does any of that have to do with me?

System: Nothing. As the title says, this is a character-growth story. Now, here's your main quest.

Beginner quest: Sign in at the designated location

Quest reward: One draw from the beginner's blind-box treasure chest

Beginner quest: Contain one C-rank contaminant

Quest reward: 1 Agility, 1 Strength

Intermediate quest: Recruit one follower

(Note: Any method is allowed. Using fraud, ■■, ■■, and so on may grant additional rewards.)

Quest reward: 1 Charisma, 10 Reputation

Advanced quest: Investigate the truth behind the school's rooftop confinement

Quest reward: □□□□

Following the System's instructions, the protagonist exhausts himself completing quests. By the time he realizes what's happening, he has a group of utterly loyal followers, a bunch of enemies who hate him to the point of grinding their teeth, and a pile of contaminants for his underlings to tear apart.

When he looks up, his name is at the top of the wanted list, with the Bureau ordering that he be executed on sight :)

Protagonist: ? Wait, I don't want to die!!

System: It's a small matter.

Expert quest: Clear your name

Quest reward: You will have the brightest future, finding true friendship and love among flowers and blessings. Your soul will find fulfillment, and you will become a true “human being.”
