The Vicious Supporting Male Lead Has a Sickly Script

Ji Tong was born into a declining family of celestial masters and was a once-in-a-thousand-years genius.

Unfortunately, he was born frail and sickly. Forget catching ghosts or drawing talismans: he could barely walk a few steps without getting dizzy.

One day, he dreamed that he was the villainous male supporting character in a novel. Out of jealousy over the protagonist's constitution, he planned to possess him, but things went wrong. Instead of curing his own body, he ended up dead.

The perpetually prepared-to-kick-the-bucket slacker Ji Tong: ?

Since his fate was already set, he couldn't die no matter what he did before his appointed time.

Realizing this, Ji Tong grew excited. He picked up talisman paper and skillfully drew the spells he had long since memorized, beginning the thrilling, dangerous life he had truly yearned for.

And so, in scenes of rampaging evil spirits, a frail-looking young man appeared, striking with extreme ferocity before collapsing straight to the ground after his stylish ghost-hunting.

The disciples of his clan looked at him with worry written all over their faces.

"I'm fine. I'm in great shape."

He said, then promptly vomited a huge mouthful of blood.

Perhaps his abnormal behavior had disrupted the world's storyline, because the original protagonist, Zong Xu, appeared much earlier. At this point, he was still an ordinary person with yin-yang eyes, so weak that anyone could push him around.

Ji Tong found him at a school beset by evil spirits. The boy's eyes were dark and bright, and his pretty face looked utterly harmless.

After thinking it over, Ji Tong decided to bring him along, for the sake of what came next in the story.

Only the malevolent spirit fading away inside the school saw the malice flash through Zong Xu's eyes.

Zong Xu knew that he was living inside a book, and that his world had restarted hundreds of times.

He knew the world inside out. In his eyes, getting revenge, rising to the top, and saving everyone were all dull and tiresome, easy enough to accomplish with a wave of his hand.

When the world restarted once again, he expected things to follow the same course as before, and grew ever more bored and irritated. This time, he wanted to see what it would be like to stand on the side of destruction.

As he was about to devour the evil spirit that would drag the school into ruin, something unexpected happened:

Ji Tong, whom he had never even looked at twice in all those hundreds of resets, suddenly burst in. No longer afraid of dying, he shielded Zong Xu and killed nearly a hundred evil spirits.

Wiping the blood from his mouth, he said, "From now on, you're coming with me. If I die, take over the Ji family for me."

Zong Xu realized that things were starting to change.
