[Western Crossover] 818: That Speedster Kid from the BAU

Hilda Allen is a distant niece of the Flash, Barry Allen. After a lightning accident, he adopts her. She also comes away with a useful superpower: speed control.

Well, it's not exactly a very Flash-like ability, but Hilda is more than satisfied.

If everything went as expected, she'd probably become an ordinary second-generation superhero, like the kids in the Super-family and Bat-family next door. She'd get her own codename, maybe join the Teen Titans, and do the sort of things superheroes are supposed to do.

Fight crime or save the world.

Usually, saying something like that is practically asking for trouble. And sure enough, trouble did find her.

While studying in Britain, she stumbled across a case and fell in love at first sight with a consulting detective.

After more than half a year of wearing him down, she finally got her wish.

Then, in just six days, her love faded away. Over the next six months, she went from loving him to hating him.

"Damn Sherlock Holmes!" she fumed as she returned to America, unwilling to spend another moment with the man who was technically her teacher. "Just you wait. I'll become a detective in America who's every bit as good as you. No, I'll trample you underfoot!"

So, when Hilda turned nineteen, her life suddenly took a 360-degree turn. She joined the BAU, hoping to prove that she could become an outstanding detective, too.

And, well, she also started dating someone at the BAU.

"Hey, relax. My uncle is easy to get along with," Hilda said, taking Reid's arm and trying to put him at ease.

"Yeah, I know. I can do this."

"My name is Spencer Reid. I have three PhDs in chemistry, mathematics, and engineering, as well as bachelor's degrees in psychology, philosophy, and sociology. My IQ is 187, I have an unusually clear memory, and I can read twenty thousand words per minute."

Barry: ?

"Um, Uncle, he means hello."

A few things to know before reading:

1. The girl is a Flash kid.

2. She was never in love with Sherlock Holmes. She just confused love with admiration.

3. It will probably cross over with various mystery shows and DC. The ratio of the former to the latter will be around 6:4, with superheroes making guest appearances from time to time.

4. Reid is the love interest. One-on-one, no competing love interests, and the author only writes pure romance.
