The day after deciding to hate Shi Yu, Pei Qinglu made three rules for him:
He could not spend more than an hour in the same place as her in any one day;
He could not talk to her for more than ten sentences at a time;
He had to stay at least three meters away from her.
Then, one late night, Pei Qinglu came down with a high fever. Shi Yu stayed by her bedside without leaving for a moment, singing her favorite English songs all night long.
On the night she threw a tantrum and ran away from home, he followed her through the hazy darkness, shining a flashlight for her the whole way.
Later, they sat atop the wreckage of a ruined fishing boat. He gently pressed his lips to hers and gave her an eternal, sweet dream of midsummer and the blues.
Shi Yu never followed a single one of their three rules, but Pei Qinglu suddenly found she no longer wanted to hate him.

In Pei Qinglu's eyes, Shi Yu can do anything, except love her.
Twice in his life, Shi Yu cast aside his own name: once to become family with Pei Qinglu, and once to make it proper for him to be with her.
