Next book: Longing
vb: Jiang Yanci is sleeping again
"He is the pride of heaven in everyone else's eyes, yet he is her devoted admirer."
Qu Yi and Su Qi grew up together. When he skipped class, she covered for him. When he fell for someone else, she delivered his love letters for him.
She thought that if she were patient, and let time pass, his gaze would eventually fall on her.
In her sophomore year, Qu Yi went to Su Qi's city to see him, only to unexpectedly find him entering a hotel with another girl.
That night, Wen Beiyan stayed with her for as long as she stood in the snow.
"Why do you keep following me?"
Wen Beiyan paused, then turned and walked away.
That was the first time Qu Yi saw Wen Beiyan's back.
Thin and proud in the silent winter night, amid wind and snow.
Later, when her hometown was being demolished, Qu Yi found a photograph of her back while sorting through old belongings.
Written on it was a line: "I'm grateful I couldn't live in your eyes, because that meant I could embrace your back instead."
The handwriting was Wen Beiyan's.
At last, Qu Yi understood.
The person she had chased after with all her heart was the only back Wen Beiyan could embrace.
-
After they got together, Qu Yi discovered that Wen Beiyan's apparent restraint and self-control were only a facade.
Underneath his seemingly composed exterior and naturally cold disposition lay a deep desire, one he felt only for her.
He loved looking into her eyes when they made love.
Damp and fixed on him, they could only hold his face in their gaze.
-Cold, sharp-tongued star x obsessive, restrained lawyer
-Happy ending, the second male lead gets the girl, modern setting (only a few brief flashbacks to their school days)
1. The male lead was once a student sponsored by the female lead's father.
2. The line in the photograph is quoted from Yoga Lin's "Back View."
--Longing--
As an adult, Ji Shiyuan had only two things on her mind: ending her engagement to Yue Heng, and getting the upper hand in her rivalry with Shen Que.
But before she could break off the engagement, she ended up in bed with Shen Que.
Ji Shiyuan chose threats over killing him to cover it up. In return, Shen Que casually egged her on: "He can be a playboy, so why can't you have some fun with other men?"
After weighing the pros and cons, Ji Shiyuan decided he had a point.
After keeping their ambiguous relationship going for a while, she successfully broke off her engagement to Yue Heng, then turned around and got a marriage certificate with Shen Que.
Less than six months into their sham marriage, Ji Shiyuan could no longer put up with Shen Que's impossible habits. She put a divorce agreement in front of him.
Shen Que glanced at it lazily and said unhurriedly, "You can divorce me, but think it over. Without me, who else will unconditionally put tens of millions' worth of rare things in your hands whenever you're angry, so you can smash them to let off steam?"
"Who else will charter a plane overnight to bring in snow from the Alps for you to build a snowman with, just because you suddenly say you want to?"
"Who else will play along when you get the urge to act out a melodrama, crying, throwing a fit, and threatening to hang yourself?"
"..."
Ji Shiyuan darted forward and tore the divorce agreement to shreds.
-
Shen Que and Ji Shiyuan had never gotten along.
She couldn't stand his superiority, and he was just as put off by her spoiled temperament.
But that didn't stop him from being obsessed with her, or wanting to possess her.
[A Pride and Prejudice story set among the wealthy]
Spoiled heiress x gentlemanly beast
Theme: Remember to love yourself while loving someone else
I want to read a side story about the heroine redeeming the hero in a parallel world (is that possible?)
It's very interesting. I haven't stayed up late to read a whole book in a long time. It's so cool. Hahaha. Looking forward to the extra episode. I really want to know about Yanzi and Yiyi's daily life after marriage and their future babies.
What does it mean? Was the male protagonist in a car accident or jumping off a building? I feel that sometimes the author's writing is very cryptic, especially in transition scenes, which makes me a little tired.
Damn, I've finished this book. I'll come back to you for your next book after I finish the exam. See you on the next one.
Ahhhhhhh, it's getting better and better
How poorly written!! Love it, love it
Wow, Chinese Valentine's Day is over, but I don't have a boyfriend, eh eh eh
Let me guess if Qu Yi is in the suitcase?
Triangles are really awesome too
Hahaha Wenwen is so childish
