The Five Virtues of a Believer [Western Fantasy]

+

Tala was an utterly ordinary villager.

She had a magical dream no one cared about, but even on her deathbed, she couldn't learn a single spell because she wasn't very bright.

By a series of coincidences, however, she happened to learn a prayer by praying “devoutly.”

As it turned out, becoming a deity's believer meant you could call upon their powers by praying.

Magic required extraordinary intelligence and painstaking study, while prayer merely required closing your eyes and believing in miracles.

Tala had discovered a whole new world:

Other people's faith was strong, so she needed to be even more devout. Easy enough: why not believe in more gods than everyone else?

Of course, divine blessings didn't come for free. She had to put in the work.

The First God ordered her to stir up conflict.

Tala: “Sure!”

The Second God told her to stop the conflict.

Tala: “You got it!”

The Third God instructed her to put an end to the source of the conflict.

Tala: “...O-okay.”

It all made perfect sense, until one day the First God told her to kill the followers of the Second and Third Gods.

Tala: “...”

Wait, weren't all these people her!?

All right, let her make this clear once more. O supreme wills, you have blessed her, and she can offer you everything in return. She will fight to uphold your will, and give her life to fulfill the mission you entrust to her.

She is the finest believer in this world,

but no one ever told her

she could only believe in one god.

[Also known as: A Believer's Guide to Running Multiple Accounts]

· A dark medieval Western fantasy, with monster-slaying, adventuring, leveling up, and food all thrown into the mix

· A light comedy, an outrageous, invincible golden finger wish-fulfillment romp (probably)

· To be precise, the protagonist has no faith. The gods exist in the background, but this isn't a religious story or about believers in the broad sense, and there's hardly any proselytizing

· The author isn't great at blurbs, so the story itself is the best guide
