The Zen Temple's Fiery Bride

Yuanzi is about to marry into the Zenin family.

Her fiancé is often away from home because of work.

On the very first day, her mother-in-law warns her, "Any woman who disobeys her family and husband will be sentenced to death."

Yuanzi says nothing.

The other Zenin siblings try to comfort Yuanzi, who seems to be scared out of her wits. "As long as you obey your husband and give the Zenin family a son, you'll be the future mistress of the household."

Yuanzi remains silent.

She devotes herself to studying the Four Books and Five Classics, along with the Three Obediences and Four Virtues.

To be a good fiancée to a Zenin, she must study these teachings diligently.

Then her tall, handsome fiancé comes home and sees Yuanzi waiting for him at the door.

Yuanzi smiles faintly. At last, her dearly departed husband has come home.

The Book of Manly Virtue says: A husband who stays away from home for a whole day is guilty of a capital offense.

First life.

With a beautiful, fair-skinned wife at home, Zenin Naoya is quite satisfied.

Just as he is about to enter, a whip lashes toward him.

Zenin Naoya is beaten to his knees.

The speed he's so proud of is completely useless against Yuanzi.

One lash leaves his whole body burning.

Yuanzi walks toward him slowly and smiles sweetly. "Darling, a man belongs at home."

Zenin Naoya loses it and screams, "I'll kill you!"

Before he can finish, Zenin Naoya coughs up blood and dies.

Second life.

Zenin Naoya returns to the past. This time, he's determined to kill Nagasaki Yuanzi.

Then his head is separated from his body.

Nagasaki Yuanzi's cold fingers brush Zenin Naoya's eyelids. Her large, dark eyes crinkle with a smile as she says, "Darling, once you marry, you should obey your wife."

Nth life.

Zenin Naoya is writing in his diary.

"A wife is the head of the household. A husband and wife should live with the husband treating his wife as his heaven..."

Nagasaki Yuanzi lifts Zenin Naoya's chin, coaxing him. "Darling, want to switch places?"

Zenin Naoya thinks he might get to experience what it's like to have a wife who treats him as her heaven.

They find a curse user to switch their bodies.

Then Nagasaki Yuanzi kills Naoya again.

This time, she's finally had enough. With one decisive move, she becomes the new head of the Zenin family.
