[Complete! My free campus novel, Secret Crush, is currently updating next door!]
Peng Chengyi was convinced she and Chen Yubai were tied together by some ill-fated bond.
They were born in the same hospital and lived across the hall from each other.
In kindergarten, they slept in beds opposite each other, and he always liked to use her head as a footrest.
In elementary school, they sat across from each other, and he always poked her to chat and pass the time.
In middle school, they were deskmates, and he always slept in class and made her cover for him.
In high school, they were finally seated far apart, but still in the same class.
Worse, his summer growth spurt and newly handsome features made him the dream boy of every girl at school, and every few days she had to help him deal with his love letters.
And she, despite being a bright and beautiful girl herself, had never received a single love letter.
At her wits’ end, Peng Chengyi decided she would do whatever it took to go to a different university from him.
Peng Chengyi: “Where are you applying?”
Chen Yubai: “Capital University.”
Peng Chengyi: “Then I’ll apply to Huada.”
Chen Yubai: “Oh. Suit yourself.”
But on the day the acceptance letters arrived, she saw his in the mail carrier’s hand too.
The envelope was from Huada, exactly like hers.
Peng Chengyi: “I thought you said you were applying to Capital University?”
Chen Yubai: “I compared them, and Huada seemed like a better fit.”
Peng Chengyi: “%&*@#…”
Fortunately, they were in different departments with different classes, so at last she didn’t have to see him every day. She even got a boyfriend.
When Chen Yubai heard about it, he said he wanted to treat her and her boyfriend to dinner to celebrate, but at the meal he was as silent as a mute.
When her boyfriend went to the bathroom, Peng Chengyi couldn’t help asking, “Why are you so quiet?”
Chen Yubai: “I’m thinking.”
Peng Chengyi: “About what?”
Chen Yubai: “What exactly does he have that I don’t?”
-
Later, in a drawer in Chen Yubai’s room, Peng Chengyi found several love letters that other people had written to her in high school.
At the very bottom was one she knew all too well: his handwriting.
[Reader advisory]
1. One-on-one romance, both leads’ first times, HE
2. Slice of life, slow burn, a touch of ensemble cast, high school and university settings. No romance before university.
3. An oblivious, chuunibyou girl × a cold, cocky puppy who says one thing and means another. Both are top students; he has a secret crush.
4. The male lead’s character card appears first only because I didn’t pay attention to the order when commissioning the art. I only noticed he was on the left after it was finished and uploaded, so his card ended up before the female lead’s. This does not mean he’s more important than her!
Secret Crush is currently updating. Here’s the blurb
After starting high school, Jiang Ning found someone she cared about.
His name was Zhou Zeyu. He was handsome, popular, from a well-off family, and a good student.
Lots of people at school liked him. She was just one of the less noticeable ones.
Her one small stroke of luck was that he never turned in his math homework on time.
And she happened to be the math class representative.
She could use collecting his homework as an excuse to exchange a few words with him.
-
After starting high school, Zhou Zeyu fell for someone.
Her name was Jiang Ning. She was cute and a little introverted.
But with her close friends, she became lively and fun.
They just sat on opposite sides of the classroom, and their social circles ran parallel to each other.
All he could do was turn in his math homework late.
That way, she would walk over to him with the assignment book.
And he’d have a chance to say a few words to her.
-
At a gathering after the college entrance exams, Jiang Ning got tipsy and decided to put an end to her secret crush.
So she quietly slipped a little confession note into Zhou Zeyu’s pocket.
Sober again, she feared the awkwardness and simply blocked him on WeChat.
But two days later, Jiang Ning caught sight of Zhou Zeyu at the entrance to her apartment complex.
Her heart skipped a beat. She was about to hide when he called out to her.
She had no choice but to put on a brave face and greet him. “What a coincidence. Do you have a friend who lives here?”
“Yeah, my girlfriend.” Zhou Zeyu paused, pulled the little note from his pocket, and gave her a wistful look. “But she blocked me, so I had to come here and beg her in person.”
Jiang Ning: ?!
Coming soon in my collection: Childhood Friends After Amnesia. Here’s the blurb
Li Leying’s childhood friend Fu Siyan was the perfect example of someone else’s kid:
Good grades, a steady personality, and handsome, he was the object of many girls’ admiration.
Tired of girls using her to get close to him, Li Leying started pretending not to know him after she went to university.
After less than two months of peace and quiet, Fu Siyan suddenly got into a car accident.
Li Leying hurried to the hospital. Seeing a crowd of friends around his bed and realizing he wasn’t seriously hurt, she quietly breathed a sigh of relief.
She was about to slip out of the room unnoticed when Fu Siyan called out to her from behind.
Everyone turned to look at her, and her heart skipped a beat.
She tried to play dumb. “Hey, do I know you?”
Fu Siyan frowned. “Aren’t you my girlfriend?”
Li Leying: ???
-
To avoid upsetting Fu Siyan, whose memory was confused, Li Leying was forced to become his girlfriend.
She thought all she had to do was play along until he recovered.
But before she knew it, he’d coaxed her into doing everything couples do.
Worse, not only was his memory mixed up, his personality had changed too.
He used to be steady and restrained. Now he was so aggressive she couldn’t handle him at all.
And just like that, he talked her into bed.
When their relationship had completely changed, Li Leying wrote a disclaimer and asked Fu Siyan to sign it.
Fu Siyan raised an eyebrow. “Is that really necessary?”
Li Leying: “Of course! Before you lost your memory, you were so chaste and upright. I’m afraid you’ll get your memory back one day and accuse me of taking advantage of you.”
Fu Siyan lowered his eyes and laughed softly. He tossed the declaration aside and pushed her against the desk with a wicked grin.
“Could it be that the person I am now is the real me?”
Li Leying’s legs went weak, her voice trembling. “W-what do you mean?”
Fu Siyan bit her flushed earlobe, his low voice soft and eerie. “I mean…”
“I’ve wanted to do this to you since high school.”
Li Leying: ?!
