The Rabbit’s Return Gift

[Print edition signed; publication updates on Weibo] Shi Chengyue went to a second-rate fortune-teller by the school gate to ask about her academic prospects. She didn’t get a prediction of a place at a top university, but she did get a detailed description of her future boyfriend: He’d be 185 centimeters tall, handsome, and have the surname Lin. So one summer evening, Shi Chengyue set her sights on Lin Yiyan. Her friend worried: Don’t drag the top student’s grades down. Shi Chengyue thought: What kind of top student would he be if his grades were so easy to drag down? Guided by this principle, she began appearing in Lin Yiyan’s line of sight with increasing frequency. At first, Lin Yiyan just helped her with homework. Later, Shi Chengyue discovered that Lin Yiyan had many different roles. He started walking her home, carrying her bag, taking her out to eat, and helping her take photos… She suddenly realized something was wrong. Oh no. If this keeps up, I really might fall for Lin Yiyan!!! * Much later, Shi Chengyue happened upon a photo of him with the fortune-teller. Lin Yiyan fell silent for a moment. “If I told you this was a group photo from a school trip to visit children left behind in the countryside, would you believe me?” Shi Chengyue was furious. It was a setup! This was a setup! *A simple story about young love *He has a secret crush Theme: Study hard
