Mu Qing fought the Zerg all his life, and in the end, he and the Queen Mother perished together.
He thought he could finally retire after completing his mission. But when he opened his eyes, he had gone back ten years and become someone else.
Free of his old identity and responsibilities, he planned to spend this life as an ordinary little Guide. Then he met his eighteen-year-old self: Ji Yun from the past.
The Ji Yun who hadn't been drenched in blue and red blood, who hadn't grown numb.
Full of vigor, bold and unrestrained.
He hadn't watched his comrades fall one by one, hadn't faced the suspicions of others, and hadn't ended up alone. Ji Yun was now at the very best point in his life.
Mu Qing suddenly felt he could at least try to make an effort. At first, he'd planned to coast through his four years at military academy.
But he'd already lived through everything that had happened before. Once was enough.
Ji Yun, whose very name held light, belonged in the sunshine, safe and well. Mu Qing had seen all those scars and shadows himself. That was enough.
“I hope Ji Yun can stand in the sunlight forever.”
The exhausted traveler never expected that, in the end, it would be his past self who pulled him out of the darkness.
Ji Yun turned and embraced the other version of himself.
The scent of sunshine filled Mu Qing's arms as he heard the other say:
“Tears aren't only for the young. If you want to cry, then cry, big brother.”
