[Synopsis to be revised and polished]
A combative couple who are true nemeses
Lou Wenqi was a brand-new corporate drone, six months into his first job, doing the most work for the least pay.
After staying up all night to finish the client's thirty-sixth round of revisions, he planned to reward himself by reading the final chapter of the finale of a hugely popular novel.
The next second, he transmigrated.
Lou Wenqi: If only I'd known, I would've quit... Great! Goodbye to clocking in at work, goodbye to my four-hour daily commute!
His bare feet dug into the soil soaked with blood. A cold wind swept through, and countless eyes opened among the white birch trees...
Achoo!
Lou Wenqi tugged at his thin pajamas. "There's really no quick-change outfit function."
It'd be awful if he caught a cold!

Pretty, harmless newcomers rarely survive their first instance. Clear-eyed, gullible college students are especially low in the food chain.
As luck would have it, just after Lou Wenqi's newbie protection period ended, he ran into a competition between players in the infinite-flow games:
All the desperate players were thrown together, the rankings reshuffled, and the strong grew stronger while the weak grew weaker. And the clueless newbies? Ha, who cares? Perfect fodder to send in first and scout ahead.
The game Malignant Cycle had placed third for three years running, earning nothing but mockery from the neighboring Lovecraftian and Invasion games.
The main System: Recruit! Bring in as many new players as possible!
It doesn't matter if they die. The more you have, the better the odds of finding a winner!
The top player from Endtime Dusk, the game that had held the number-one spot for ages, entered the competition instance. He stood on the boss's face, discussing with the livestream audience how to brutally murder the other players, his grape-like lips quivering with excitement.
"We're voting now. I'm in a good mood..."
"Excuse me, could you move aside?" Lou Wenqi breezed through the crowd, poked the number-one player, and asked politely with a smile, "I got here first."
The viewers watched as the mouths covering the top player's arms shut. Half a second later, his face twisted into a stiff smile. "B-Boss..."
The viewers were too stunned to react before a tidal wave of comments came pouring in, filling the screen with red exclamation marks.
Damn! Why is this menace back again!
--Isn't he bored yet!
Oh, wait, he's not from our game. Good, then.
"Go ahead, please."
After three years, Malignant Cycle returned to the top and reclaimed everything that belonged to it.
As for the cost, let's not talk about that.
The balding main System lit a cigarette, looking world-weary. "You aren't a newbie. Why didn't you say so?"
"Oh, you didn't ask," Lou Wenqi replied mildly, wearing a bashful smile. "I didn't know none of these infinite-flow games did background checks before grabbing people."
