The Firebird and the Flying Fish

After the great earthquake of 4012, virus-carrying monsters emerged from the Earth's core, bringing humanity to the brink of extinction. After the war, humanity split into two factions, Ideal City and Utopia, which have fought over resources for years. The hardest-hit area is District 4648. Ever since it declared independence, its people have been stripped of their human rights.

Bounty hunter Li Moxing is hired by the family of a former teammate to find someone in District 4648. He barely sets foot there before running into Hefi, an S-class, red-haired, high-risk ability experiment subject who can play with fire. And just like that, he's headed underground. Since neither of them can win alone, Li Moxing proposes a partnership in the spirit of cooperation and mutual benefit. The two plan to investigate the underground city. But with only one pass between them, they pretend to be married and rely on Li Moxing's shamelessness to bluff their way through.

Li Moxing: An unlucky, fragile guy whose ominous predictions always come true. His skin is so thick that only other people end up embarrassed. He once served in the Yikong Special Forces and threw himself into fighting for humanity's ideals and civilization, only to realize that all that talk of ideals was nonsense. He retired early and started collecting his pension. Unable to sit still, he took up bounty hunting, living a miserable life with an unstable income and death always around the corner.

Hefi: A beauty whose face and physique are best appreciated separately. His face is gorgeous, but his body is built like a tank, so taking in both at once can be a bit much. His ability is to be reborn in flames. Taciturn, he is an artificially created ability experiment subject who was kept in storage because his power was unstable and therefore never used as a killing soldier.

Theme: Move forward bravely, keep your heart turned toward the light, and hope is just ahead.
