The Gorgeous, Tragic Villain Takes On Heaven Itself

Hai Yunzhu is a villainous prince who dies early in the book. He is cruel and ruthless, schemes for power, murders his siblings, and kills his father to seize the throne. In the end, the male lead's plot leaves him riddled with arrows.

But in truth, his elder brother harmed him, his father abandoned him, and even the person he loved was nothing but a pawn planted by the male lead at his side, all to bring about his death.

The Heavenly Dao tells him, "This is how a villain is meant to be."

But Hai Yunzhu refuses to accept it. Fate is unfair. Why shouldn't he fight back? He only wants to live.

After Hai Yunzhu dies, readers rage and denounce the author for treating him unfairly. But the dead cannot be brought back to life, and neither can a fictional character whose author refuses to revise the story.

Perhaps the readers' longing was simply too strong. The world of the book quietly began to change.

Hai Yunzhu came back to life, returning to a time when his father and brothers were still alive, and before he had fallen in love with that pawn. He remembered everything that had happened, including the Heavenly Dao's words.

So what if the world is a book? So what if he's only a villain? He will repay everyone who hurt or harmed him in kind, and he will never hand over anything he wants!

But the Heavenly Dao will never allow an ordinary person to alter the secrets of fate on their own. It warns Hai Yunzhu again and again: if he doesn't follow the original plot, heavenly punishment will strike, and he will die.

Hai Yunzhu is unafraid: "I'd rather die fighting than live on my knees."

But can someone tell him where this devoted guard, who never appeared in the story, came from?

Hai Yunzhu: "If you stay by my side, you'll die."

Gui Shi'an: "I came for you. Defying heaven is a small thing. I'd gladly live with you, and die with you."
