So, in his first week at Fukurodani after returning to Japan, Shiina Izumi happily submitted his application to join the volleyball club. On the very first day, as he looked forward to an easygoing, enjoyable volleyball life, he happened to run into an intra-squad scrimmage.
First-year recruit Akashi, also new to the team, looked at the tall guy standing 187 centimeters in front of him and asked hesitantly, “What position did you say you play?”
Shiina: I'm a libero!
And so, during the scrimmage, second-year Bokuto watched as a junior who looked nothing like a libero dove to save his spike.

Akashi: You were actually serious!
A few weeks later, at a practice match between Fukurodani and another school, Shiina was standing in the front row when his opponents caught him off guard with a tip. He immediately covered the gap and dropped to his knees to receive it in one smooth motion.
Everyone from the other school: Isn't he a middle blocker?!
Everyone at Fukurodani: Oh, he was a libero until recently...
Shiina, forced to switch positions because he was one of the tallest players on the team, could only feel speechless.
How had no one told him Fukurodani barely had any towering players, and that their ace was such a wild card?
Shiina, who had deliberately avoided the “monster child”: Where did my easygoing, enjoyable volleyball life go?!

1. The protagonist will become a versatile player. He played libero overseas and only started playing other positions after returning to Japan.
2. Pairing with Ushijima. Childhood friends are the best!
3. This isn't a pure wish-fulfillment story. They won't win every match.
