[This novel already has a backlog of chapters, but the author can't handle writing two stories at once, so it's been put on hold. I'll start the one next door first.]
Blurb:
Kitami Haruya is a thoroughly ordinary wage slave.
While everyone else was still in school, he had already gained extensive experience as an overworked corporate drone. Now, he was starting his fifth job:
Jujutsu Sorcerer.
It sounded like the ultimate fantasy of some rumor-spreading organization, but with such a generous salary on offer, Kitami Haruya accepted the job with lightning speed.
Kitami Haruya: Hesitating for even one second would be disrespectful to my wallet.
After enrolling at Jujutsu High, Kitami Haruya quickly met his new coworkers: a silver-haired guy in sunglasses, a guy with bell-bottoms and earrings, and a big sister type who treated cigarettes like lollipops.
Good heavens, this place is so cool it's making me dizzy!
A country boy like Kitami Haruya was only stiff and awkward for a second. Soon enough, the fire of the wage slave had been lit in his heart.
Facing a wall of people, Kitami Haruya put on a perfect eight-tooth smile and introduced himself:
"Hello, everyone. My name is Kitami Haruya."
"I'll work my way to victory over all of you."

Kitami Haruya's cursed technique is called [The Light of Heaven Shines Upon Me]. It lets him manipulate light to reach extremely high temperatures and produce flames.
But something seems to have gone wrong. When he first used his technique, it nearly burned through the sky screen, but now all he can manage is a tiny spark.
So Kitami Haruya bought Ieiri cigarettes for a week, and finally, by chance, learned the truth:
He's a jujutsu sorcerer with only two settings: on and off.
His bug-like cursed energy reserves mean his technique can only reach its maximum or minimum output.
"Why?! Gojo-senpai!"
"There's no particular reason. But that means you probably can't use your cursed technique freely at school, Haruya."
That's right. To avoid burning straight through the floor every other minute and being hit with enormous repair bills, the broke Kitami Haruya had no choice but to become a dud.
And when he went on missions with his classmates, he could only be part of the cheer squad, lighting their cigarettes so he wouldn't get in the way of their training.
This was simply... amazing!
Make a few sparks, slack off, and still get paid!
"Wow, what a happy life."
Dust swirled through the curtain as a classmate's call drew closer.
Haibara ran over shouting, "Kitami, quit enjoying life! How did that curse catch fire?!"
Kitami Haruya recognized the flames and snapped his fingers. "Oh! How did my little spark land over there?"
"I'll leave it to you, Haibara." Kitami Haruya got up and took off running. "I didn't bring any money today, so I can't pay for the repairs."
Haibara: ???
You don't have to pay for the mission repairs, Kitami!
Reader notes:
1. The protagonist is in the same year as Nanami and Haibara, and is a native of this world.
2. The protagonist is genuinely a support character at first, with damage output at most like a time bomb.
3. There will be no sequel. The original story will tentatively be covered up to Shibuya. Whether anything after that gets written depends on circumstances.
In short: Jujutsu Kaisen + Detective Conan
