The Day a Handsome Guy Appeared Out of Nowhere and Shouted, 'My Favorite Is So Cool!'

A little brainchild of a short story, hehe...

For the past 26 years of her life, Kurusu Haruka had lived an ordinary life as an extra.

She went to school, grew up, became a corporate drone, and lived the same unchanging life day in and day out.

Content with the status quo, she thought, "I'll probably live an ordinary, unremarkable life like this for the next thirty years, too." Then one day, after coming home from work, she was ambushed by a strange man falling from her ceiling.

"..."

She looked up at the perfectly intact ceiling, then at the handsome stranger, who looked just as bewildered as she did.

He had a headband that said "Love, Haruka," wore a shirt printed with her photo, had a haori embroidered with "Kurusu Inochi," and was holding several black light sticks. If his clothes had featured the name and image of a beautiful, cute anime character, I might have thought he was a harmless otaku who'd accidentally walked into the wrong house, but...

What the heck? Where do you even buy black light sticks?

No, this isn't the time to make jokes, Kurusu Haruka.

The most important question is, he's one of those, right? One of those stalkers.

"Please stay right here and don't move, okay? (Calming the criminal down)... I'm going outside (to call the police) and will be right back (I will never come back)..."

I was going to escape that way, but he grabbed my wrist first.

Crap. Was my ordinary life about to end today?

The stalker carefully examined my face, then slowly let go of my hand in disbelief. The next thing I knew, he was overcome with unexpected joy.

"It's my oshi! My oshi is real!! My oshi is so divine!!!"

He grabbed his own wrist with his other hand, then dropped to his knees with a thud.

He wept tears of joy.

"I'll never wash this hand again for the rest of my life...!!"

N-no, wait, what?

And so, after 26 years of ordinary living, my absurd life of being worshiped as a god by my oshi suddenly began.
