The Little Witch in the Forest

[This story won't be updated anytime soon. Add it to your collection with caution. I'll start writing again after I've read books on potion-making, herbal witches, how to slay dragons, and the like.] (These titles are just to give everyone an idea of the style, since I'm easily influenced by whatever I read.)

At the edge of a distant kingdom, there was a little-known village. Its residents were warm and honest, and their lives were peaceful and settled, just like those of any other small village.

The only difference was that a little witch lived in the nearby forest.

The adults in the village would tell their children, "If you wander too far into the forest and get lost, the red-haired witch will bring you home with her magic sprites! Make sure you listen to your big-sister witch!"

One day, a knight who had traveled a long way from the royal capital stopped in the village. Having been banished, he decided to settle in this quiet little place, find a job, and spend the rest of his life in peace.

Then the kind-hearted lady who ran the tavern brought him to a lovely red-haired girl.

"You said you needed a... apprentice to gather herbs! Look what I've brought you!"

It turned out the witches and their magic, who were always burned at the stake in bedtime stories told to children in the royal capital, were real.
