Saving the World Is Uchiha's Duty

Mayuka thinks this world is absolutely awful.

The people, the scenery, and especially the idiot who keeps showing up in front of her every day, talking about his dream of becoming Hokage.

He's nothing but a dead-last loser.

The Uchiha always say she's a disgrace to their clan, a useless failure who can't even use ninjutsu.

They aren't even friends, yet that dead-last loser keeps saying he'll change the world.

But... after seeing that guy smile, Mayuka thinks maybe this world isn't quite so awful after all.

Eventually, the guy who proclaimed he would become Hokage died.

So she died too.

Her silver-haired, naturally curly guardian always says he's jealous that she has the Sharingan. When she first arrived in this godforsaken world, she wanted to escape by any means necessary. But when she heard that silver-haired, naturally curly man casually mention what had become of that dead-last loser, for the first time she felt an urge to go back and punch him hard. She wanted to grab him by the collar and ask, Is this the world you wanted to save?

Well, destroying the world and rebuilding it counts as saving it, doesn't it?

Before the term "rivals-to-lovers" was coined, people often used it to describe Obito and Mayuka.

One was a useless Uchiha, the other an Uchiha dead-last. Whenever the two of them were together, people would say, "A dead-last really is a dead-last. Even his friends are useless." The useless one would curse him out too, saying there was no way a dead-last could beat Kakashi. Whenever Obito shouted, "I'll work hard and become Hokage!" Mayuka would only say, coolly, "Idiot." But only Obito knew that everyone who looked down on him had gotten a beating.

Sometimes Mayuka couldn't help seeing Obito as a puppy. Even after he became the one carrying out the Eye of the Moon Plan, she still thought he was like a puppy.

"You bark like a puppy all the time. Come on, call me 'Master'!"

"Didn't you want to hear a dog bark?" Obito leaned close to Mayuka's ear, taking in her disheveled state. "...Woof?"

Mayuka spent nearly half her time cursing Obito, and Obito never once said the word "love."

But for them, this may have been the way only a "dead-last" and a "useless Uchiha" could get along.
