A Rainy Autumn in Paris (Zhou Baishan)

| Canary, Investor x Female Student

The rain roars through the night. Cheng Weiyue sits up in bed, picks up her nightdress, and silently puts it on, its thin straps winding over her shoulders and revealing the graceful curve of her back. "Mr. Zhou."

"Hm?" A lazy hum.

Cheng Weiyue presses her lips together. "I might not come to see you anymore."

"Why?"

Zhou Baishan sits in the shadows by the bed, a cigarette between his fingers. His sharp brows are lowered, and his eyes are quiet and unfathomable.

Cheng Weiyue looks away and tries to put on her coat, only to discover that her clothes have been torn.

She lowers her head, her bowed neck as graceful as a swan's. "You said it yourself. I have to grow up. I can't keep relying on you."

"My parents have also introduced me to a boyfriend. I was thinking..."

Zhou Baishan cuts to the chase. "Break up with him."

His sudden words leave Cheng Weiyue staring at him in bewilderment. "...Why?"

Zhou Baishan stubs out his cigarette and lowers his lashes. His tone is aloof and refined, with a faint huskiness. "There's no reason, Weiyue. I provide your food and clothes, and give you access to my resources and connections."

"Now that you've had your fill, you want to leave me. That's not how business works."
