When the Tides Sweep In (Yu Xi)

| Eight-year age gap, a love seized by force

The first time they saw each other after he returned to the country,

was at her disastrous engagement party.

He was the uncle of her fiance.

That very night, her fiance abandoned her, holding the hand of her illegitimate younger sister.

That night, Hong Kong was swept by a torrential downpour. In a red evening gown, she sat on the steps with her arms folded and her head bowed, her misty eyes making her look as pitiful as a stray cat.

He walked over, carrying a wedding gift to congratulate them on their marriage.

The two sat in silence.

Only after she had been drenched for a long time did she finally raise her eyes to look at him. "Are you satisfied now?"

"Does ruining other people's relationships make you feel accomplished?"

He fell silent, then merely raised an eyebrow. "It happens all the time."

[Come embrace me, as if I were a whirlpool.]
