A Matter of Marriage (Guan Tingyu)

| Rekindled Love, Staid Gentleman x Young Lady

Guan Tingyu hadn't wanted to get married at the time.

The main problem was that her mother was far too domineering and insisted on deciding the marriages of all her children.

She wasn't as capable as her eldest brother, or as bold as her fourth younger brother, who would speak his mind and go his own way.

Fine, then. She'd get married.

Her first impression of her husband wasn't particularly good or bad. He came from an excellent family with a solid fortune, and he was steady and honest, treating her gently and with mutual respect.

Even though there was no love between them, she felt he was at least someone she could rely on.

But in the two years they'd been married, they hadn't had a child.

Guan Tingyu herself hadn't given it much thought, and her husband never brought it up, so she didn't ask either.

Then, in their third year of marriage, she discovered she was unexpectedly pregnant.

She wanted to go home and tell her husband, but happened to see him driving another woman home.

Only then did she feel the terrifying hand of fate.

She clutched the pregnancy test results and stood on a street teeming with traffic. As the dim lights gradually faded, she was at a complete loss.

He'd always felt that Heaven had favored him, granting him birth into a wealthy family and the protection of his clan. His life had gone smoothly, free of hardship or disaster.

And the wife he'd married was the woman he loved.

Though she wasn't especially passionate toward him, he thought they could take their time.

Until one day, he came home late at night and found his wife sitting quietly in the living room.

He thought she was waiting for him. "Why are you still awake?"

His wife fell silent, which was unusual for her. After a while, she said, "Lu Liang."

"Yes?"

"Let's talk about getting a divorce."
