When the Dream Ends (Zhou Shuyan)

Fostered Together, Fake Siblings, Rekindled Love, Beijing Social Circles

Jiang City was pouring with rain. After the company dinner, she waited for her boyfriend to pick her up.

He arrived late, walked her to the apartment building under his umbrella, then bent down to kiss her before leaving. "See you tomorrow."

She curved her lips into a smile too. "See you tomorrow."

She turned and headed upstairs, but a dark figure suddenly rushed out of the stairwell.

A powerful shove sent her against the wall. The reek of alcohol enveloped her as she widened her eyes. In the darkness, his lips abruptly claimed hers.

The man's presence surrounded her.

Her whole body burned. His familiar voice was hoarse with exhaustion as he asked, "Who taught you how to kiss?"

Her heart tightened, and she shifted half a step away.

In the dim light, after all these years, she saw that deep-set, icy face again.

"My brother," she answered honestly.

It was Zhou Shuyan.

But so what? After all those years of living together,

he was still going to marry someone else.

[Let me see you, just as the dream is about to end.]
