The Cyber World's Greatest Con Artist

In her previous life, Ji Lai was a hardened criminal. She escaped from prison, kidnapped people, hijacked a plane, extorted money, and broke out of prison time and again. In the end, the federal government sent in an army. She was convicted of twenty-seven serious crimes and executed by firing squad.

The moment the shots rang out, Ji Lai transmigrated into a cyberpunk world.

Privately controlled android armies. Mega-corporations monopolizing precious mineral deposits that stretched for miles. The lingering aftertaste of neural spices that let people drown in pleasure. Mutants pulling strings and rising above ordinary people, while the lives of those at the bottom were worth less than ants.

Black toxic fog shrouded the steel forest, while the glittering Sky City stood above the clouds.

Outside the slums, where sewage flowed through the streets.

The wealth of a tiny handful of people was a crime in itself.

Wasn't this perfect?

She was born to be the worst of the worst.

One of Ji Lai's speeches was the final spark that ignited a war.

She said, “I once had a dream. In it, no one had to scrape by just to survive. Everyone held enough crystal to defend themselves. The hierarchy was gone. Everyone could enter and leave the Sky Screen Tower freely and stand as equals with the Awakened, people gifted with special powers.”

She said she never lied.

She just left out the second half of the dream.

That was everything she could see from where she stood on the floating island.

The crystal-filled Aska Mountains stretching across the horizon. The Apocalypse Legion defending the entire Night City. From the top of the Sky Screen Tower to the edge of the boundless sea.

It all belonged to her.

A sweet-faced, ruthless schemer who lies without batting an eye x a top-tier fighter who's a villain at first and a lovestruck puppy later

1. The heroine seems delicate and weak, but she's actually a master at controlling people's hearts. Everyone throws themselves into the fray and gives their all for her. She gets everything she sets her sights on, and by the end she has it all.

Theme: Everyone deserves equal opportunities and rights.
