Genius Girl

Song Wenjing came from a wealthy family and had been called a math prodigy since childhood. He won a gold medal at the International Mathematical Olympiad at thirteen and was admitted to B University’s math department without taking the entrance exam. He was admired by everyone and insufferably arrogant.

Then he set foot in a run-down county town for the first time and met a girl who had dropped out of high school. In a corner of the county library, she used a stubby old pencil to scrawl out a proof on a stack of yellowed scratch paper, a proof he had spent three months puzzling over without solving.

Song Wenjing grabbed her and demanded, “Did you write this? Did you use a multi-step inertial regularization algorithm? How did you derive this part?”

The girl tried to wriggle free, darting her eyes away as she stammered, “...I-it’s obvious?”

“...”

Song Wenjing thought it was a mere coincidence.

He never imagined someone would be so begrudging and reluctant, yet crush all his confidence and pride again and again.

And then, beyond hope of recovery, make him surrender to her step by step.

The first time Du Yi met Song Wenjing, she thought he was the most insufferable person she'd ever met.

Bad-tempered, arrogant, looking down on everyone, and never letting anyone off the hook once he had the upper hand.

A pampered young master from the capital, so precious even his hair was golden. Someone she couldn't afford to cross.

And yet, somehow, she crossed him anyway.

Du Yi had always thought her life was nothing but mud stretching as far as the eye could see: cramped dormitories, an electronics factory reeking of rust, and the same three shifts over and over.

Until a difficult young master grabbed her wrist, gritting his teeth and refusing to let go.

He said, “I won't let you go.”

He said, “Du Yi, you don't belong here.”

He said, “Come with me.”

“I want you to stand in the most dazzling place in this world.”

1. Math genius girl x spoiled young master who's arrogant at first and then turns into her devoted puppy

2. One-on-one romance, HE

3. I was tired of stories where an ordinary heroine looks up to a gifted male lead, so I wrote this indulgent story. The heroine is the one and only genius in the whole novel.

Theme: No talent should be allowed to go to waste.
