Immortal Elf

Lin Xi had known since childhood that her adoptive father, Mr. Garcia, was not human.

He was an elf who was cold and breathtakingly handsome, possessed knowledge and wealth beyond measure, and had a lifespan that stretched into eternity, all while living in the human world.

He disciplined her, criticized her, and kept her in line, but he also protected her, comforted her, and accepted her.

He could do anything.

And Lin Xi was hopelessly in love with him.

She offered up her naive youth and all her passion, awkwardly trying to win his favor. Again and again, she slipped letters filled with a young girl's innermost feelings into his desk, but all she got in return was a cool gaze and increasingly distant treatment.

This was a long, hopeless secret love from a human for an immortal being.

When her feelings were ruthlessly exposed, Mr. Garcia sat at his desk with his legs crossed. He lifted his eyelids, his beautiful green eyes looking down at her with indifference. "There's nothing to discuss before you're an adult. And once you are, I don't think there's any need for us to see each other."

"Fate? There's no such thing."

"I took you in on a whim."

But when Lin Xi was kissing a werewolf boy without restraint beneath the moonlight in a narrow alley late at night, Mr. Garcia, in a black trench coat, tossed the boy aside with one hand.

He pinned the girl against the wall. She stubbornly raised her eyes to him. "Didn't we agree we'd stop seeing each other once I was an adult? Do I know you, sir?"

The man's icy green eyes, tightly pursed lips, and taut veins all seemed to suggest he hadn't done it on a whim after all.

"Is this how I taught you to spend the night alone with a dangerous creature?"

In the darkness, the man gripped her waist hard. His green eyes were dark, anger held in check. His thumb gently wiped the tear tracks at the corners of her eyes, but he chastised her with increasing force.

"Answer me."
