Flower of Evil: Breaking Free

[Chaotic times + Redemption + Love at first sight + No golden finger + No transmigration or rebirth + Not a wish-fulfillment story]

Tao Luoshu met someone when she was fifteen. Greed got the better of her, and she falsely claimed to be the person who had saved his life. Later, she got her wish: she left Taoyuan Village and entered the capital, a place she had once never dared to dream of seeing. Fine clothes and fine food, wealth and glory, a few close friends, and a place on a chessboard where she never should have belonged.

She was selfish and greedy, ruthless when money was involved, and timid, clinging to life. She was a mess, nothing like the radiant moon. Yet someone held her dear, respected her, cherished her, and loved her.

The first time Li Shi'an saw Tao Luoshu, he couldn't explain why he couldn't look away. He had lost all his memories and was gravely injured. The gentle, kind-hearted girl made him grateful, and her tragic past stirred his compassion.

Later, he discovered that she wasn't the harmless person she seemed to be. She was a small beast with her claws tucked away, good at hiding her true nature. Her hands were not spotless white; they, too, were stained with blood.

"This is who I am: a scheming, murderous, selfish, terrible person."

"Whichever version of you it is, she's still you. I love you, and I'll never give up."

Tao Luoshu survived, surrounded by bloodshed. Looking back, she saw those bloodstained figures, and grief washed over her.

She thought, people really do change so easily.
