Shiratorizawa's Setter, Toru Oikawa

[Opens November 18 at midnight. Stockpiling chapters in full swing!]

Ushijima Wakatoshi had a dream. In it, Oikawa Tooru accepted Shiratorizawa's offer of admission when they invited him for the third time.

The best setter in Miyagi at the All-Japan Junior High Tournament, a leader who could bring out one hundred percent of his teammates' abilities. His compatibility with Shiratorizawa, and with Ushijima himself, was absurdly high. He was the setter Ushijima wanted most.

Ushijima woke up and realized it wasn't a dream.

At the final All-Japan Junior High Tournament, Kitagawa Daiichi once again lost to Shiratorizawa and missed out on nationals.

As he considered where to go for high school, Oikawa Tooru had two choices.

- Go to Aoba Johsai with his childhood friend and continue fighting Shiratorizawa.

- Accept Shiratorizawa's offer, join one of the prefecture's top teams, and get a direct ticket to nationals.

When he was utterly lost, a chance encounter brought him face-to-face with his idol. The man asked him just one question: [Do you want to play volleyball for the rest of your life?]

Oikawa had only one answer: [I do.]

The veteran coach met with the prefecture's top setter, the one he had his eye on.

[I didn't come to Shiratorizawa to babysit the ace. I have my own ideas, and I won't do what you tell me.]

[At Shiratorizawa, only the strong give the orders. If you want to call the shots, prove you're stronger than me first.]

[I don't need to prove anything.]

[You were the ones who wanted me here. That means I'm the strongest player you could choose.]

Shiratorizawa Academy, a national powerhouse in volleyball, had supplied the professional leagues at home and abroad with generation after generation of talent.

And that year, Shiratorizawa had both a left-handed genius attacker hailed as a "boy wonder" and the prefecture's best setter, known for his outstanding leadership and top-tier serves.

That was the year the nightmare began for the rest of the country.

P.S. This story lets Ushijima's dream come true: Shiratorizawa's rival duo, and Oikawa complaining about Ushijima every day (?)

The C/B pairing is delicious, and I love it.

Volleyball matches make up a huge part of the story. It's expected to be a long one, and Oikawa will not join the Japan national team.

Theme: That's what it means to be strong!
