A New-Concept Guide to Collecting Ghosts and Monsters

Seriously ill and on the verge of death, He Jieyi accidentally signed a contract with a cosplayer and transmigrated to an alternate dynasty overrun with ghosts. From the start, he nearly got killed by one right in his face.

He was scared half to death and in a state of shock, but his body, fueled by adrenaline, leapt into action. Armed with an ordinary wooden stick and a flurry of wild swings, he beat a flayed ghost to death while bawling his eyes out. He was a compassionate god of war incarnate.

He Jieyi: I can't stay in this crappy world another second. Just destroy it.

The System realized he had little will to live, so it patiently tried to persuade him with the ultimate reward of resurrection in the modern world and powerful ghost-slaying weapons.

System: Collect every type of ghost in this world and you can return home and solve your near-death crisis!

He Jieyi: Oh, go to hell. I choose to embrace death.

Many years later, outside humanity's last refuge, the land was strewn with bones, and piles of ghost corpses formed mountains.

He Jieyi sat atop them, his gaze cool and indifferent, the setting sun draping him in blood-red light.

Behold the Prefect of Mount Tai. Open the gates of the underworld and summon the Lord of Mount Tai.

Ghosts: So in the end, we were the ones who had to bear everything.

System: Even though I treated this world like a game, urged my Host to slaughter ghosts, provided him with weapons and ghost-slaying rewards, and gave a Host in mortal danger an overpowered cheat that let him instantly turn the tide, I'm just a weak, ordinary, helpless ghost-collection System.

All the ghosts: Get lost!!!
