Following the Light into the Qilin's Dream

A naturally goofy, obsessive qilin gong | Fu Lin | Not a person, he's clearly an auspicious ray of light

A straightforward, naturally seductive, dark-skinned shou | Xiao Ran | Assistant coach for the swim team, a handsome merman

Xiao Ran has a clingy admirer.

The guy has a silver wolf cut. He's good-looking, but you can tell he traded his brains for his looks.

By the pool, the guy stared at him without blinking, as if he hadn't seen a man in centuries. After a long moment, he said, "Are you that Xiao Ran?"

Xiao Ran: Who are you?

At the aquarium, the guy dove underwater. Bubbles gurgled into his mouth, but he was still grinning. "Are you a mermaid, glub? What a glub-coincidence! I'm a qilin, glub glub, gulp gulp gulp gulp gulp..."

Xiao Ran's mermaid performance was interrupted and nearly turned into a disaster. Luckily, the guy woke up after Xiao Ran gave him mouth-to-mouth resuscitation.

The man, who was already so pale he seemed to gleam, had gone completely bloodless after nearly drowning. But then his face turned bright red. "Did you kiss me?"

Xiao Ran: Are you an idiot?

The qilin had lived deep in the mountains for hundreds of years and met many humans.

Recently, he met a group of travelers who called themselves backpackers.

Tall, skinny guy: Xiao Ran really turned you down?

Short-haired guy: Yeah [awkward laugh]. He asked if I'd look only at him forever, protect only him, and love only him.

Tall, skinny guy: What an idiot!

Gorgeous woman: What do you know! That's called pure-hearted devotion!

Short-haired guy: A pure-hearted idiot...

Qilin: Wait! I'm a guardian qilin! Protecting people is what I'm good at!

The qilin transformed into human form.

The silver-haired young man disguised himself as a backpacker traveling alone, joined the group, and spent the whole trip asking about Xiao Ran.

He looked forward to seeing Xiao Ran and protecting him.

But the moment he saw him, his desire to protect him changed into something else.

The man emerging from the pool wore nothing but swim trunks. He had wheat-colored skin, a tall, lean build, broad shoulders, a narrow waist, square pecs, and eight glistening abs...

He could even transform into a handsome merman, his big tail swishing right into Fu Lin's heart.

Fu Lin: [Swallows] Staying close to him is still protecting him! That's right! I'm a professional at protecting people from zero distance!
