After the Male Lead of the Farming Novel Failed to Arrive

A tough, dark-skinned country bumpkin who plays dumb, bottom x a sweet, innocent top who thinks he's a schemer

Xiao Liu is T01, the black-clad agent exclusive to farming-life stories. T stands for top, and 01 is naturally his ranking based on his KPIs.

His daily tasks include, but aren't limited to, dropping amnesiac generals, injured princes, future chief ministers, and the like on a designated mountain, then making sure the heroine or hero picks them up, kicking off a steamy "entrepreneurial" tale...

One day, he gets a new assignment. He checks the task list on his PDA:

Target mountain: Brokeback Mountain

Injured prince: Qi Mingxuan

Transmigrated heroine: Hua Yue

This heroine doesn't follow the usual script. Even after ten drops, she still won't pick him up, and keeps muttering, "It's a ghostly loop, it's a ghostly loop. Whoever picks him up is a dog!"

Xiao Liu squats there chewing on a blade of grass until midnight. The heroine would rather share a den with a big black bear than go anywhere near that sorry sight.

Him: If she doesn't pick him up soon, he's gonna die. Who's going to make up my KPI?

Qi Mingxuan: How about we switch targets? Maybe the next one will pick me up? I think I can still be saved! (His bloodied hand trembles: Where's my knife!)

Xiao Liu: Damn, no wonder nobody wants to pick you up with blood all over your face! I'll get you patched up (and cleaned up), then drop you off again tomorrow. This top isn't giving up!

And later, he really does get cleaned up.

Xiao Liu: His eyes go wide, and he falls for him.
