The Star Called Ye

At twenty-two, Li Yingxin and Yu Yuan stood together in the busiest part of downtown, gazing up at the enormous billboard across the street. Bright-eyed and full of ambition, Li Yingxin said to Yu Yuan, “One day, that billboard will feature a photo of us together. Our band is going to become a superstar group.” Yu Yuan smiled and nodded. “Mm.” Six years later, Li Yingxin passed through the old neighborhood alone and stopped once more in front of that enormous billboard. He looked up and saw Yu Yuan, who had long since gone his separate way. In the picture, Yu Yuan stood in the far corner, gazing for a long time at the empty space beside him. This is a band story, more or less: bandmates who broke up and find their way back to each other. Li Yingxin (the bottom, a bassist) × Yu Yuan (the top, a lead singer), younger top, secretly in love with the bottom. One-on-one, happy ending.
